Meet Dr. Marnie Loomis, N.D.
I’m a naturopathic physician, author, and teacher focused on men’s and women’s health. I’ve been in practice for 17 years, and I enjoy working with hormone imbalance, burnout, low libido, and erectile dysfunction. I love helping people to understand themselves and to feel as healthy and vibrant as possible.
My interest in sexual health started long ago as a public health volunteer. As a teenager, I was a birth control counselor at a community clinic. Even back then, I realized how important sexual health was to a person’s life, and more importantly, how infrequently people were asked about it. As a physician, I strive to have an open, non-judgemental communication style that allows patients to feel safe and develop trust. I’ve studied many different aspects of sexual health and sexual practices, including Sex Positive, BDSM and LGBTQI, in order to familiarise myself with the many different sexual realities that my patients may have.
I’ve been in practice for 17 years, and I enjoy working with low testosterone, hormone imbalance, burnout, low libido, and erectile dysfunction.
One of my favorite professional activities is communicating. Whether I’m talking one-on-one with a patient, lecturing in front of a large audience, or writing an article or book, I love to explain complex topics in ways that are easy to understand. As an adjunct faculty member and international lecturer, I’ve become well known for my my sharp wit and engaging style. I love that my practice at Full Potential Men’s Clinic allows me the time to really get to know my patients.
Before joining Full Potential Men’s Clinic, I co-founded the consulting firm Burnout Solutions, LLC, a firm dedicated to protecting people who work in high-stress careers and environments.
I graduated with my BS from Michigan State University and my ND from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), (formerly the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM)). Besides clinical practice, during my career I’ve also served as managing editor for the Naturopathic Doctor News and Review (NDNR), staff physician for Labrix Clinical Services, program coordinator for the AIHM Interprofessional Fellowship, departmental director for two college departments, and as an adjunct faculty member at NUNM, teaching medical students in the topics of nutrition, clinical / physical diagnosis, doctor / patient relationship, and psychology.
I work with Dr. Robert Strait, N.D., and Dr. Ose Okojie, N.D. at Full Potential Men’s Clinic in S.W. Portland, Oregon, and together we provide the most advanced and customized low testosterone therapy and comprehensive hormone therapy, and erectile dysfunction therapy available for men anywhere near Portland, Oregon.
I currently reside in the Portland metro area with my two wonderful children. I enjoy hiking, camping, salsa dancing, and performing stand-up comedy.
