Do you feel you might suffer from low testosterone? All men suffer from low hormones after 50 years old. It’s inevitable, although most people still don’t seem to know this. Sadly, the truth is that nowadays though most men actually suffer from severely low testosterone and progesterone in their early 30’s – and some men in their 20’s. For men, ironically, estrogen levels usually increase during this time, causing further suffering. In addition to low testosterone and progesterone, all men inevitably suffer from low human growth hormone levels as well. For most men, low testosterone and low levels of other hormones at any age causes tremendous suffering.
Full Potential HRT Clinic has provided thousands of men near Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington with unrivaled state-of-the-art testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), human growth hormone (HGH) therapy, and comprehensive hormone replacement therapy (HRT) through our Gold Standard Concierge TRT Program, which sets the gold standard for “Trifecta” TRT for men with low testosterone – for only $200 per month.
Our Revolutionary Approach to TRT for Men with Low Testosterone in Portland, Oregon
We understand that the reference ranges labs use don’t really matter. Reference ranges say that only 2.5% of men under 40 years old can have low testosterone, and that on the other hand 2.5% of men under 40 years old have too much testosterone. That sounds absurd because it is. Regardless, if you’ve tried to receive TRT for low testosterone from your primary care physician, you were likely told that your testosterone levels are normal, and were likely denied TRT for low testosterone, because your levels haven’t yet plummeted to the bottom 2.5%!
Reference ranges are composed only of average men 18 to 40 years old who aren’t obviously chronically diseased, or obese. What do we know about average men 18 to 40 years old who aren’t obviously chronically diseased, or obese? Are they ideally healthy? No, of course not. Should medications that lower testosterone be prescribed to the 2.5% of men who have testosterone levels above the reference range, since the reference range implies that those men are abnormal? No, of course not. Those men in the top 2.5% aren’t unhealthy or abnormal. They’re the healthy men! That’s how much testosterone we’re all supposed to have!
The reference ranges stop at 40 years old, because almost all men over 40 years old have low testosterone, and including them messes up the reference ranges. It’s called Andropause! And it’s in full swing by the time you’re 40 years old! Click here to learn more about low testosterone and what causes low testosterone.
We know that what’s most important is what level of total and free testosterone that not only resolves your symptoms and signs of low testosterone, but furthermore makes you feel your absolute best, without causing adverse effects. Our TRT doctors in Portland, Oregon are TRT experts. They have learned from years and thousands of patients of experience that your total and free testosterone levels while on TRT for low testosterone should on average be above the reference ranges for men 18 to 40 years old.
Getting your total and free testosterone levels to be on average above the reference ranges while on TRT for low testosterone is difficult for most TRT doctors to accomplish without causing adverse effects, but this is our area of expertise, and it’s not difficult for us to accomplish. It requires an in-depth understanding of how low testosterone and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) affects other hormones, medical conditions, genetic predispositions, and environmental factors, and it requires lots of experience. Our TRT doctors in Portland, Oregon have this understanding and experience.
Successful TRT for Men With Low Testosterone Requires the Expert Prescription of Three Medications
The foundation of successful testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for men with low testosterone requires the expert prescription of the “Trifecta” of three TRT prescription medications: testosterone, anastrozole, and HCG, along with ongoing blood testing and follow-up.
We prescribe a dose of testosterone that gets you and keeps you within your normal and healthy ideal range, which means your average total and free testosterone levels are above the reference range – where they’re supposed to be!
As men age their testosterone levels plummet and their cells decrease their number of testosterone receptors. The disappearance of testosterone receptors means that whatever testosterone is in the blood is more likely to be stuck in the blood outside of the cell, and therefore be converted into estrogen. To make matters worse, extra weight, especially in the mid-section, chronic stress, drinking a significant amount of alcohol, or using cannabis will all increase the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, and this whole process becomes a vicious positive feedforward cycle since higher estrogen levels will decrease testosterone production, causing testosterone levels to further drop, testosterone receptors to continue to disappear, and estrogen levels to further increase.
If men with low testosterone forego “Trifecta” TRT for low testosterone, then this disappearance of testosterone receptors gradually becomes irreversible beginning around age 50 or so, and worsens over the course of the next about 20-30 years, after which it’s mostly irreversible. In the mean time, it’s reversible, but it takes expertly prescribed short-term supersaturation of the testosterone receptors by testosterone for the cells to increase their number of testosterone receptors again. What this means is that when men with low testosterone initiate testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) they will initially require a significant amount of an aromatase inhibitor to prevent the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. Over time, the required dose of anastrozole usually decreases, but it can be quite significant for some time. Of course, in cases where men become a lot more physically active and improve their body composition, testosterone doses can increase such that the anastrozole dose remains the same or even increases. This is why it’s important to make sure you’re going to a specialty TRT clinic where you can receive testosterone replacement therapy under the supervision of a team of TRT doctors who are TRT experts.
If testosterone is prescribed without the appropriate anastrozole dose, then an overwhelming amount of estrogen will be produced from the prescribed testosterone, which will outcompete testosterone for testosterone receptors, and this pretty much causes the opposite of what men with low testosterone want from testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Trust me, there are better ways for men to get in touch with their feminine side. Without the appropriate prescription of the just-right amount of anastrozole by a TRT doctor who is a TRT expert there’s no way to normalize testosterone levels without causing either overwhelming estrogen levels.
Our Portland TRT doctors prescribe a dose of anastrozole that gets and keeps men’s estrogen levels within their normal and healthy ideal range, which means that they get all of the benefits of having a normal amount of estrogen, without suffering any adverse effects of having either too much or too little estrogen. This is crucial, because estrogen is actually a very important hormone for men! Men will not feel normal and healthy if their estrogen levels are either too high or too low. An example of how important estrogen levels are is that if men have too much estrogen, then they can’t achieve a firm erection, and if they have too little estrogen, then they can’t maintain one. I think that’s all I have to say about estrogen for men to understand it’s importance, but there’s a whole lot more to it than that!
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin
HCG looks just like the hormones LH and FSH that are made by your anterior pituitary gland in your brain to stimulate your testes to make testosterone and sperm, and estrogen, too, except it’s a lot stronger than LH and FSH. It’s exceedingly important that HCG is prescribed as part of a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) regimen in order to prevent testicular shrinkage and a gradual loss of your ability to make testosterone and sperm, and estrogen, by your testes.
This is because when you are on a therapeutic dose of testosterone your total and free testosterone levels are in your normal and healthy, ideal ranges, so your pituitary gland turns off its production of the hormones LH and FSH, which it normally makes to stimulate your testes to make testosterone and sperm, and estrogen, because it figures that you have all the testosterone you need, so there’s no need to make more LH, and it figures if you’ve got all this testosterone around, then you should have plenty of sperm around as well, so there’s no need to make any more FSH either.
So essentially HCG is prescribed to replace LH and FSH. Studies have shown that 95+% of the functional capacity of the testes to make testosterone and sperm, and estrogen, is maintained with a therapeutic dose of HCG.
Also, because the penis is loaded with LH and FSH receptors, which also accept HCG, men are also even more likely to experience improved erectile function with the ongoing prescription of HCG. That’s all I had to write isn’t it? Now you understand the importance of HCG!
Sometimes You Need More Than “Trifecta” TRT
Properly prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) requires an in-depth understanding of how low testosterone and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) affects other hormones, medical conditions, genetic predispositions, and environmental factors, and it requires lots of experience. We have this understanding from years and thousands of patients of experience
We’re experts not only in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for low testosterone, but also in comprehensive hormone replacement therapy for men in general. Low testosterone is the most common severe hormone deficiency in men less than 50 years old men, but between 40 and 50 years old it becomes more common for men to suffer from severe human growth hormone deficiency, and severe human growth hormone deficiency is just as common as severe testosterone deficiency for men over 50 years old. It’s also not uncommon for men to suffer from other hormone deficiencies and imbalances as well, especially low progesterone, as they age. For men less than 40 years old who suffer from low testosterone, usually expertly prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is all that’s needed to bring other hormones into balance. But sometimes it’s not. For men over 50 years old, usually some form of human growth hormone replacement therapy is required for symptom relief, prevention and treatment of age-related chronic disease, and the experience of full potential health.
When necessary, we identify and address other hormone deficiencies and imbalances as well. And we do it better than any other testosterone or hormone replacement therapy clinic anywhere near Portland, Oregon, or Vancouver, Washington.
We augment testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and comprehensive hormone replacement therapy for men with the evidence-informed use of other medications, nutraceuticals, herbs, and realistic lifestyle recommendations, customized to their needs and abilities – so that we can work together to help our patients reach their full potential!
